Hockey & Hamburgers

Saturday night = Hockey night in Canada.
6 straight hours of hockey on CBC.... my husband couldn't be happier. With a bit of the sniffles, it doesn't seem so bad to be cuddled up on the couch with the familiar sound of the commentators and the puck being passed around on the fresh shiny ice....

for dinner I thought burgers would be perfect! I actually have been craving a good ol burger for a few days now... with a nice glass of coca cola too.

although I have little burger eating experience, I truly believe that my homemade sirloin gourmet burger is the best I have ever had! the side dish of yam fries dipped in spicy ketchup couldn't have been more perfect. We enjoyed our meal while watching the last bit of the hockey game, which our team, the Canucks won! I hesitate to really get overjoyed for this team, though I am new to the game (watching it) I am already finding that as soon as you get too excited over a win...the next game they would lose... sometime so badly that I am embarrassed for ever caring, but I think this particular game would've been a win win situation anyway for I had a wonderful saturday night with my husband!

oh....I realized a few hours later I had forgotten to serve my gourmet burgers with my nice glass of coke which is so irritating. Now I have a big bottle in my fridge that probably won't get opened for....

well I could have a sunday rum & coke tonight? if only Grandpa was visiting.

Fall

It seems that the Autumn season brings on change... I know for me one of the biggest changes in my life happened in September. And I can't help but think that everytime I feel restless during this season...I think maybe because it's programmed in my mind that I should be getting ready for a change. But maybe it's just because the possibilities of summer are gone, no more days spent all day outside, no more daylight until ten in the evening...and the chill of winter is on the horizon. Skies turn grey, we wake in dark and and people turn inward, both physically and mentally.

For now I am looking forward to the warm lamb curry that I smell cooking in the kitchen...

GOOGLE ME

I can't believe it! I am google worthy. It takes years of patience, endurance and hard work to get a status in the internet life.

It all started on this gloomy rainy Tuesday evening. I just finished a delicious tuna melt, and I decided to check my email accounts. 1st Hotmail - nil. 2nd Yahoo - BULK. Lovely. So I google around. I had heard about a working from home site from a tv show the other day that claims to have helped stay at home moms (I am not in this category) get income or people that would like to make extra money (my category). So I check things out. But....it wasn't that fun. Back to the main page of google. Oooh how about I type my name and see if there's anything about me (I'm acting like I've never done this before, well I haven't done it for at least a month) Then..... instead of "O RESULTS WERE FOUND" A result appeared. Yes a 1 out of 1 Result. Yes "Pink & Pop aRe The PeRfect Match" blog, based on real life occurances of Lora Wijana. Starring Lora Wijana and other people. WOW. It looked and read fabulously....

That brings me to why I am now blogging again. People out there might need me. The topics must go on....

Until next time , Good Night and Good Luck!

WEDNESDAY December 23, 2004
7:30 am.

My techno ringtone on my Kyocera cell phone rings while I was applying my mascara. It's Erik, my beloved boyfriend's brother. He wants a ride to the ferry, we're both going into the city today. Sure why not!
We get to the ferry at 8:00 (plenty of time we thought). "I don't like the look of those cones" Erik mumbles. You see,the ferry is the only source of transportation we have to get across to the big smoke. More people than not HATE and DESPISE this only option. And more often than not, they screw up a person's day quicker than a huge zit on the center of your face.
Just as we suspected "an OVERLOAD", a familiar term for BC ferries, meaning, not enough room for everyone on the Sunshine Coast to get on one boat therefore you have to wait 2 hours for the next sailing. Lovely.

1st of all I should tell you. I am going into the city to get my travel VISA for my visit to Indonesia. Office hours 9:30 - 12:30. How nice.
I have approximately 1 hour by the time I get into Horseshoebay to get downtown and find this office.

Okay so change of plans. Brett has to meet me there instead of me picking him up (to save time). It turned out alright while Erik and I waited. He filled up my gas tank and treated me to breakfast. We went back to the terminal in plenty of time to be the 2 or 3rd car in the line up. I'm feeling a little better about this day. It's sunny and not that cold. We're on the boat. Lets go upstairs for a cup of tea. I get my purse, lock up my car and realized my keys are locked in there too. hahahhahaha. Hilarious! Why don't I just jump off the boat now. While erik roamed around looking for a ferry guy I rushed to the Chief's Stuart's office and trying hard not to cry I told her what happened. Thank goodness that they are equipped for situations like this and had someone jimmy (is that what you call it?) my door open. Hooray!! 1 point for BC ferries.

We're sitting on the comfy chairs while the boat sails into the sea.....Gorgeous...
Sipping on delicious home brought tea compliments of Erik, I had another realization: WHERE'S MY WALLET? Off I go to the car deck in search of my black, pink trimmed money holder. It was in my trunk. Hahahaa. Why? who knows why. ok - I'm alright. We're almost there. Not as relaxing as I wanted to ride to be.

We're on the road again. Off the Indonesian Consulate office on ALBERNI st.

TO BE CONTINUED....
