My techno ringtone on my Kyocera cell phone rings while I was applying my mascara. It's Erik, my beloved boyfriend's brother. He wants a ride to the ferry, we're both going into the city today. Sure why not!
We get to the ferry at 8:00 (plenty of time we thought). "I don't like the look of those cones" Erik mumbles. You see,the ferry is the only source of transportation we have to get across to the big smoke. More people than not HATE and DESPISE this only option. And more often than not, they screw up a person's day quicker than a huge zit on the center of your face.
Just as we suspected "an OVERLOAD", a familiar term for BC ferries, meaning, not enough room for everyone on the Sunshine Coast to get on one boat therefore you have to wait 2 hours for the next sailing. Lovely.
1st of all I should tell you. I am going into the city to get my travel VISA for my visit to Indonesia. Office hours 9:30 - 12:30. How nice.
I have approximately 1 hour by the time I get into Horseshoebay to get downtown and find this office.
Okay so change of plans. Brett has to meet me there instead of me picking him up (to save time). It turned out alright while Erik and I waited. He filled up my gas tank and treated me to breakfast. We went back to the terminal in plenty of time to be the 2 or 3rd car in the line up. I'm feeling a little better about this day. It's sunny and not that cold. We're on the boat. Lets go upstairs for a cup of tea. I get my purse, lock up my car and realized my keys are locked in there too. hahahhahaha. Hilarious! Why don't I just jump off the boat now. While erik roamed around looking for a ferry guy I rushed to the Chief's Stuart's office and trying hard not to cry I told her what happened. Thank goodness that they are equipped for situations like this and had someone jimmy (is that what you call it?) my door open. Hooray!! 1 point for BC ferries.
We're sitting on the comfy chairs while the boat sails into the sea.....Gorgeous...
Sipping on delicious home brought tea compliments of Erik, I had another realization: WHERE'S MY WALLET? Off I go to the car deck in search of my black, pink trimmed money holder. It was in my trunk. Hahahaa. Why? who knows why. ok - I'm alright. We're almost there. Not as relaxing as I wanted to ride to be.
We're on the road again. Off the Indonesian Consulate office on ALBERNI st.
